Many of our playgroup alumni are now attending grades Pre-K through Third Grade and have wished to return to Willow Nest. After School arts was born in Spring of 2022 in answer to that desire. At Willow Nest, we are dedicated to providing a positive, creative and safe space for your children to come be joyful in the after school hours.
As always, we will utilize Prospect Park and the Studio. The park is alive with inspiration and a healthy place for wondering and playing. The studio is a beautiful space of curated materials, books, light and loose parts. Both are unique spaces where focused project work, community play, music and stories are created and shared.
After school arts is intended to give children a place to express and explore materials freely and expand their creative ideas through open-ended, process oriented arts explorations. You can expect your children to create things they want to take home and also sometimes just revel in the freedom to make mistakes and learn through materials.
Our philosophy of making and exploring in the arts values listening to children while encouraging inquiry, curiosity and risk-taking. Freedom of expression and to play are central to helping children grow confidence in their art making.

Pick up from PS154 at 2:45 is optional and requires separate registration.
Late pick up until 6:15 is also optional and also requires separate registration.
Pricing
A $300 non-refundable deposit up front will hold your spot in class. Class fees depend on the number of classes offered for each session. Sessions vary depending on day of week/trimester due to holidays. You may view the full calendar for your chosen class on our website. Early pick up and late pick up are both billed separately. A month advance is suggested to join our waitlist for any after school camp. We will let you know when there are enough registrants to go forward with the camp. Call us directly to register.
